Just got back from Badgastein

After a week of skiing (and après-skiing, for that matter) it's time to update this blog. This weekend I will get to it. Till soon.

Und hier bin ich gewesen.

Blue Cheer - Vincebus Eruptum

When tracing back the roots of hardrock and heavy metal it's impossible to overlook this '68 album by Blue Cheer. Tough Rock 'N' Roll - loud, heavy and from the heart. Dig.

Take this one with you HERE.

See the fury of Blue Cheer.

The Solution - Will Not Be Televised

More feel good soul, this time from Sweden. The Solution has that funky ol' school approach this music needs. Try this one on your headphones and you'll be twistin'.

Get your Solution over HERE.

This is how The Solution rolls.

Warzone & Cause For Alarm - Split

Two of the best NYC Hardcore bands ever on one mini cd, something worth checking for folks who can handle it. Listen to CFA's Beyond Birth And Death and Warzone's Bullshit Authority. The Energy!

Get your portion of NYHC HERE.

Here's Warzone at CBGB's, back in '86.

Fatso Jetson - Power Of Three

This is one crazy band. Psychedelic rock from the Palm Desert as you have not heard it before. Power Of Three (1997) is a must have for all who dig stuff like Brant Bjork and QOTSA. For cyco's only.

Get yours HERE.

Here are the Fatso's (he lost some pounds tho)...

James Hunter - People Gonna Talk

Top shelf Soul for y'all. Van Morisson's guitarist blends soul with hints of reggae and funk, which results in a real feel good record. People Gonna Talk's bound to move your hips.

Get this album over HERE.

Here are two songs by James Hunter at Jools Holland's show. Relax.

Bob Marley - Natty Dread

Natty Dread (1974) is one of my favorite Bob Marley albums, simply because it contains Revolution. I can listen to it for hours. (Don't bother listening to the strange version of No Woman, No Cry.)

Get your download over HERE.

Listen and watch Revolution (here mistitled as Revelation).

Muddy Waters - Electric Mud

Electric Mud (1968) is one of the most controversial records Chess Records ever put out. The label wanted a different approach, involving psychedelic sounds, fuzzy guitars and hip beats. Muddy loved it, the critics hated it. I'm with Muddy on this one.

Check out Electric Mud HERE.

See drummer Morris Jennings discuss the record with some ethnocologist.

Mountain - Twin Peaks

Mountain is one of the '70s rockbands that didn't make it that big. But listening to this 1974 live record, it's obvious they're one of the originators of what later became 'metal'.

Go HERE (part 1 & part 2) and make sure you turn it way up.

This is what they sounded like at their comeback in 2007.

One Life Crew - Crime Ridden Society

Crime Ridden Society is one of the hardest hardcore albums I know - musically and lyrically. Pissed off, out of control and most provocative. Victory Records even banned their own record and dropped the band in '96.

Hear what the fuzz is all about HERE.

And see what the fuzz is all about, too.

13th Floor Elevators - The Psychedelic Sounds of ...

This is drughead Roky Erickson at his best. Back in '66, this band was the first real psychedelic rockband to ever exist. Definitely a must-have for all who enjoy their bit of old school rock.

Get this piece of rock history right HERE.

Some 43 years ago, this is watskeburt.

Year Long Disaster - s/t

This heavy powertrio combines tons of energy & decibels with catchy but nasty riffs. Boogie your way thru this one and you'll immediately have to spin it once more.

Download the full length debut HERE.

Get ready for some testerone.

Super 400 - 3 And The Beast

3 and the Beast (2007) is Super 400's 3rd studio album. This threepiece sure fills their albums with stylish Soul Rock. New album will be out spring 2009.

Download 3 and the Beast right HERE.

Here's some sort of a clip for opening track Emergency.

Triggerfinger - Camaro

First album by these tasty Belgian rockers. Camaro (2004) is currently out of stock. A re-release is long overdue.

Pick up Triggerfinger's debut HERE.

Check out the riff of On My Knees in this video.

Doyle Bramhall II - Jellycream

DBII's 1999 album for RCA. Jellycream has everything you could wish for: excellent songwriting, soulfull vocals and rock with Tone.

Download Jellycream HERE.

Here's closer track Chariot live.

Alain Goraguer - La Planète Sauvage OST

Alain Goraguer's score for the 1973 French/Czech film La Planète Sauvage. It's a psychedelic trip - also for non-lovers of animated movies or science fiction, such as myself. Get into it.

Download the original soundtrack HERE.

Here's a 10 minute fragment of the film.

About this blog

Welcome.

Seduce & Sedate will host music downloads I've found all over the web. Although I do not upload any music myself, you can place your requests in a comment. I just might find your request on the web.
I do not limit this blog to a musical style. If I think it's good, it'll appear on this blog. From funky soul to psychedelic rock to bashing metal. That's what I mean with Seduce & Sedate.
Check back every now and then. Regular new entries.

Enjoy.
